"The first time i got on stage was for a 4th grade production of Shakespeare's Hamlet. I played Polonius. At first, I was thrown off that I had to play a man. I was 9 years old, what did i know? But, I have to say that being stabbed and dragged across that stage, pretending to be dead, was the most alive I had ever felt up to that point in my life."
Alexandra is an actress born and raised in Los Angeles to immigrant parents from El Salvador. She got her real opportunity to shine when award-winning playwright Josefina Lopez (Real Women have Curves) and award-winning director Iliana Sosa (Child of the Desert) cast her as Sandi Sanchez in their film, Detained in the Desert. Originally a play, written in protest to anti-immigration laws in Arizona , Detained in the Desert premiered in 2013 at the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival.
